When I left ISRO in 2008 to pursue my Master's at the University of Texas at Dallas, I was a young scientist who had already led 100+ engineers through a national satellite anomaly and shipped algorithms that improved Cartosat imagery for India's defence and Earth-observation programmes. What I did not have — and what almost no one around me had — was a clear map for what came next.
Long before that, in 1997, I cleared the IIT-JEE with no coaching — at a time when the exam genuinely sorted a generation — though I did not land the coveted Computer Science seat. Over the years I also cleared the IIT Roorkee MBA entrance and the recruitment processes for ISRO, BHEL, DRDO and BSNL. I chose ISRO and walked away from the rest. I mention this not as a trophy list, but because almost every student I mentor is staring at exactly that kind of fork — multiple "prestigious" doors open at once, and no honest guide on which one actually fits their life. I have been on both sides of that decision.
MentorEdge360 exists because I want students, graduates and working professionals to have that map. Not motivational talk. Not templated career advice. A real, grounded conversation with someone who has actually built the thing you are trying to build.
Over the last two decades I have worked across satellites at ISRO, hearing devices at Zounds, audio DSP at Cirrus Logic and Synaptics, deep learning for ophthalmology at Hamilton Eye Institute, and AI for medical devices at Medtronic — where my work reduced patient hospital stays by 20% and saved roughly $1M per study. Today I consult independently on Generative AI, agentic workflows and clinical knowledge graphs, and I am federally recognised in the US through the National Interest Waiver for exceptional ability in AI.
That 360° view — research, industry, regulated environments, and now founder-style consulting — is exactly what I want to bring to every student or professional who walks up to our booth or books a session. Whether you are picking a branch in 11th grade, applying to US grad schools, switching careers into AI, or rebuilding your resume after a long break, you deserve specific, honest, experience-backed guidance.
That is the promise of MentorEdge360. I am glad you are here.
